Is Disneyland Paris Worth It?
Disneyland Paris was absolutely worth it for our family thanks to lighter crowds, unique versions of familiar rides, and how easy it was to reach from Paris by train. It felt familiar enough to be comfortable, but different enough to feel special and worth the trip.

Short answer: Yes, it was absolutely worth it for us.
We went into our Disneyland Paris trip knowing it would feel different from our home park of Disneyland in California, and that’s exactly what we loved about it.
One of the biggest positives for us was the lighter crowds. The parks felt noticeably less hectic, which made it easier to slow down and actually enjoy being there instead of rushing from ride to ride. We’re very much “in-the-park” people, and Disneyland Paris felt like a place where that style of touring really worked.

What surprised us most was how familiar and different the parks felt at the same time. Many rides are recognizable, but several have unique storylines or layouts. Phantom Manor, for example, has a completely different backstory and tone than Haunted Mansion at Disneyland in the U.S., which made it feel like a new experience even though it’s a ride we know well.
That said, there were a few differences worth knowing ahead of time. Some thrill rides have higher height requirements than their U.S. counterparts. Our 7-year-old could ride certain attractions at Disneyland in California but couldn’t ride the similar versions at Disneyland Paris. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for us, but it’s something families with younger kids should be aware of and factor in.

We stayed on-site at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, which we loved, and spent time walking through Disney Village. Disney Village is smaller than Downtown Disney in California, but it still has familiar shops and restaurants, such as Earl of Sandwich, and the area is especially scenic with the water next to it.
One of the biggest wins? How easy it is to get there. We took the train from Paris, and it couldn’t have been simpler. You essentially step off the train, walk into Disney Village, and the park entrances are right there. No long transfers, no confusing directions — it was genuinely stress-free.
Big takeaway: If you enjoy Disney parks but are open to experiencing them a little differently, Disneyland Paris is absolutely worth it.
