Should You Stay On-Site at Disneyland Paris?

Staying on-site at Disneyland Paris was convenient and enjoyable, especially for easy park access and the ability to take midday breaks. However, nearby Val d’Europe is a fantastic off-site alternative that can be budget-friendly, spacious, and just one quick train stop away.

We stayed on-site, and overall, we really enjoyed it, but it’s not the only good option.

Our hotel, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, was about a 10–15 minute walk to the parks. Some hotels are closer (like the Hotel New York), and others are farther, but everything felt very walkable.

Staying on-site

Staying on-site came with a few perks we appreciated:

  • Easier dining reservations
  • The ability to walk back to the hotel when it rained
  • Ability to drop of our luggage in the hotel before we checked in and leave it after we checked out
  • A more immersive Disney atmosphere

Here I go into further detail about our experience staying at the Sequoia Lodge.

Staying off-site

That said, we also spent a night in Val d’Europe the night before our park stay, and we loved it.

Val d’Europe is just one train stop away from Disneyland Paris, and the trip takes about 10–15 minutes total. The area has:

  • A small Monoprix near the station for snacks and drinks
  • Multiple restaurants
  • A massive shopping mall that’s worth walking through on its own

We stayed at Quality Suites Val d’Europe, and it was ideal for our family. The room functioned like an aparthotel with two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a small kitchenette, and a living area with a pull-out couch, so it had plenty of space for our family of seven.

Big takeaway:
If staying on-site fits your budget, it’s convenient and enjoyable. If not, Val d’Europe is an excellent alternative that isn’t too far from the Disney parks.
